Banking industry, a faster growing and a solid sector in Sri Lanka has some key players that are systematically important as and they are making a substantial profit. The considerable fact about banking industry in Sri Lanka is, it is dominated by state owned banks. In fact, SOEs (State Owned Enterprises) final income is heavily relying on state owned banks. Bank of Ceylon and Peoples’ Bank are the largest state owned banks in Sri Lanka which are falling into commercial banks category. National Savings Bank is a Licensed Specialized Bank.
